You don't have to disable system-wide location on your phone to prevent this, you can simply go to the camera app's settings to disable location data for pictures. The camera app uses your location to geotag pictures, this is helpful if you want it to show pictures taken only in a certain city, at a certain beach, or at home. To put it simply, it is more likely that people can track your location using the EXIF data from a picture taken by a phone since phones usually do that (with your explicit permission though).Īpps will ALWAYS ask for your permission to use your location for that specific app. You are being paranoid and don't have a full understanding of how tracking works, which in turn is making you even more paranoid.
